Welcome to Campbell Town District High School

Front of School

Campbell Town District High School (CTDHS) is a public school located in Campbell Town, Tasmania.  CTDHS is focused on developing strong, co-operative relationships with families and community to prepare our young people for success and wellbeing in the 21st century. Our school provides educational programs for students from birth (Launching into Learning) through to Grade 12.  We encourage students to have high aspirations and to experience and celebrate growth in all aspects of their learning and life. CTDHS is committed to working with students and their families to achieve the very best educational outcomes for all. We are committed to enabling our students to receive the highest quality education in their local community.

Educational opportunities at Campbell Town District High are comprehensive and individualised. We recognise the diverse abilities, needs and interests of our students. Our learning programs develop the academic, vocational, social and emotional skills and capabilities of each individual, recognising that every student is unique, and every achievement should be valued.

Literacy is a system priority for the entire Department for Children, Education and Young People. We know that students who establish and develop strong literacy skills are equipped for success in all aspects of their education. This flows into the opportunities and outcomes they experience beyond school in work and life. The development of strong literacy skills is a priority from Launching into Learning to Year 12 at CTDHS. We also prioritise achievement in Australian Curriculum Numeracy/Maths, Humanities, Science, Health and Physical Education.

As students move toward the senior school, we provide increased opportunities to explore career and vocational pathways through our elective programs and vocational courses. Students have the opportunity to extend their academic skills, learn about developing technologies, develop vocational competence in courses such as Agriculture and Hospitality or explore personal interests in subjects such as Music and Art.

Our school prides itself on being an open and inclusive school community.  We recognise the importance of the partnership between school, parents and the broader community to support student learning, engagement and wellbeing. It is vital that all parents feel respected, welcome and heard at their child’s school. Please       contact us with any questions or concerns you have about your child’s progress or wellbeing. We share a commitment to, and a responsibility for, ensuring an inclusive, safe, respectful and orderly environment for children and young people.

Our school is staffed by a committed and talented team of teachers and support staff. Students will be challenged by their work and we ask students to have the courage to take advantage of the opportunities available to them. A positive attitude, hard work and perseverance will result in success.

We are very proud of our school and look forward to a long partnership with your family.  I hope you and your family experience a long and happy association with Campbell Town District High to maximise your child’s full potential.
