CTDHS SECONDARY SPORT SEASON WRAP-UP
Every Wednesday this year, our secondary sport students travelled to Launceston to compete in weekly fixtures as part of the Northern High School Sports Association. Most games were held at Hoblers Bridge, where our students represented CTDHS with pride, skill and sportsmanship against a variety of schools from across the region.
This season, CTDHS fielded two netball teams: a Division 3 Girls team and a Division 1 Boys team.
The Division 1 Boys had a strong and varied season, playing against both boys’ and girls’ Division 1 teams to broaden their experience and challenge their gameplay. Their season culminated in a grand final against Port Dalrymple School. Having split their previous four encounters with two wins and two losses, the boys entered the final with determination and grit. In a fast-paced and competitive match, they secured a 13–8 victory, taking home the championship title.
The Division 3 Girls team delivered an exceptional season, going undefeated from start to finish. Their grand final against Newstead Christian School was a testament to their consistency and composure, with CTDHS winning 16–11 in a well-fought match. What made the girls’ season truly special was their teamwork and leadership. The team worked tirelessly to build cohesion and confidence. Senior players took on mentoring roles, guiding their teammates through game strategies, encouraging communication on court, and modelling resilience under pressure. Their ability to lift each other up and play as a united front was evident in every match, and their undefeated record speaks volumes about their commitment and camaraderie.
Upon returning to school, both teams were greeted with a joyful guard of honour, celebrating their achievements and the spirit of CTDHS sport.
Congratulations to all players, coaches, and supporters for an outstanding season. Your dedication and teamwork continue to inspire our school community!
